What would happen if...
What would happen if we all gave our lives away to a cause that can truly change the world? What would happen if we ALL started living our most heroic lives? What would happen if we all starting SERVING our communities, our churches, and the world? What would happen?
Many of you have entered into this question with me over the last few years as this ministry has unfolded. First there was the Paris mission, the journey to Paris to give a year of life and hard work to a new and budding church. In retrospect, I see that this year was really a scouting mission, an opportunity to learn more about what the world is waiting on from us, the Christian community. I'm back now from Paris, having learned so much about myself, my faith, and especially about this mission. What's next? Next is the chance to put the results of this scouting mission to work. It's time to acquire the skills needed to dig fully into this global vision.
In order to acquire those skills, I have chosen to engage in a two year, intensive leadership development program with Mosaic, a forward-thinking and deeply innovative church in Los Angeles, California. While engaging in this program, I will also be attending seminary at Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena. These two intensive processes will help unfold and reveal the next steps in this mission. In the meantime however, both of these programs are a two-year commitment for growth. Two years of intensive learning and shaping so as to be able to engage in this vision, this mission fully as it unfolds.
Where do we go after two years? I don't honestly know that answer yet. I have some ideas, but really believe that this is a primary role of the upcoming step; to form and clearly establish the steps beyond, into whatever God is calling us ALL to do.
What about support?
While I will be able to work SOME in Los Angeles, the need is still ever-present for support in both prayer and finances. The best case scenario would be for me to be able to focus fully on school and on the church while gaining this next level of education, HOWEVER, I intend to work 25 hours per week (the maximum amount allowed by the school) for the duration of the program. Not only would your continued financial support aid in those two years of life, but it will also serve as a springboard for the upcoming journeys into other countries, and other worlds to bring the love and message of Jesus Christ to the nations.
